The Special Olympics Torch, the Flame of Hope makes its way to the Special Olympics Louisiana State Games!
Hundreds of Law Enforcement personnel from all over Louisiana escort the Special Olympics torch, the Flame of Hope, throughout their local communities in a relay across Louisiana to the Special Olympics Louisiana State Games. Athletes, families and supporters are encouraged to come out to cheer on Law Enforcement agencies as they pass through their town in honor of our Special Olympics athletes!

Lafourche Parish (Thibodeaux PD, LPSO, Lockport, Probation & Parole) – May 20, 2022
START: 9:00 AM at the intersection of Hwy 20 and Talbot Avenue. Proceed through Thibodaux heading towards the St. Charles Community and will eventually land at the Lockport Rec Center hopefully between 11 and Noon. The party for local Center residents will begin at 11 AM and dependent upon when the residents must return to their Centers, we should wrap up around 1 PM.

Starting out at the TPSO Hammond Substation, we will travel west on Club Deluxe Road, go north on S Morrison all the way to Western Ave, then down to the cemetery. We will make the quick jut to the continuation of Western Ave, running through the cemetery, and down to N Oak St, where we will go south and turn east, ending at La Caretta. Total distance is roughly 5 miles.

- Arrive 8:45AM @ Jena High School, 243 East High School Drive, Jena, La. 71342. Gather in front and parade through hallways with athletes and officers.
- Half mile run from Jena High School to Jena JR High School, 114 East Southern Ave, Jena. Parade halls with athletes and officers.
- Drive to Jena Elementary, 758 East Sharbono, Jena around 9:20AM. Gather and parade through halls with athletes and officers. This will conclude our event.
