Capital Area Torch Run Routes

Ascension Parish, Gonzales

9:00 AM

Runners will meet at Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office (828 Irma Blvd) to be shuttled to Gonzales Municipal Park on Burnside Ave.

Run Route:

  • Start: Gonzales Municipal Park.
  • Head South on Burnside Ave. to Railroad Ave.
  • Go right onto Railroad Ave. to East Ascension St.
  • Vere right onto East Ascension St. to US 61.
  • Turn right onto US 61 (Airline Hwy).
  • Continue on US 61 until you reach E. Cornerview St.
  • Take a right onto E. Cornerview St. to Irma St.
  • Turn left onto S. Irma Ave.
  • Head South on Irma St. towards 1122 East Ascension Blvd.
  • End: The run will end at The ARC of East Ascension.

East Baton Rouge Parish, Baton Rouge

***Official Torch Run Ceremony***

Check in at: 7:30 AM

Run starts at: 9:00 AM

Official Torch Lighting Ceremony begins at 8:30 AM at the North Boulevard Town Sqaure in downtown Baton Rouge. The Baton Rouge Torch Run will begin immediately after the ceremony.

Run Route:

  • Start: Runners will start on North Blvd. at Town Square and head east toward 8th St.
  • Make U-turn going west on North Blvd. toward 4th St. 
  • Head north on 4th St. to Spanish Town
  • Head east on Spanish Town to 5th St.
  • Go north on 5th St. to Capital Acess around the armory behind the capital to 3rd St.
  • Head south on 3rd St. back toward Spanish Town
  • Go east on Spanish Town to 4th St. 
  • Head South on 4th St. to North Blvd. 
  • End: Go west on North Blvd and arrive back at Town Square.

This is a state event for all areas. Male and female athletes from across the state will compete in Swimming, Horseshoes, and Softball.

Camp Shriver Baton Rouge

Camp Shriver Baton Rouge will take place Monday June 5th through Friday June 9th from 8am-2pm. This camp will feature athletes and partners from the Capital Area and Florida Parishes Area. Learn more about Camp Shriver.
